The admissions process begins with becoming informed. Prospective parents are welcome to call for information, attend an open house, or visit the school. We are currently hosting information sessions on selected dates from November through March. Call us at 651-492-7106 for exact times and dates, or download the pdf above. In order to visit the school and tour during school hours, we request that you attend one of these sessions ahead of time. This will make the time that you spend in the classroom more comprehensible.
Enrollment in Twin Cities German Immersion School is open to any child who resides in any Minnesota school district. Children enrolling in kindergarten and first grade need no prior knowledge of German to enroll. It is highly recommended that children enrolling in higher grades take a proficiency test in German prior to enrolling.
Enrollment opens each fall for the following academic year. Parents are requested to submit an enrollment form. Enrollment forms are available by request or can be downloaded beginning in November of each year below. Enrollment forms must be received on February 15th to be considered for the lottery.
If there are more enrollments than openings in any given class, Twin Cities German Immersion School will hold a public lottery in the beginning of March. Siblings of current students are given preference and therefore may be exempt from a lottery. If needed, Twin Cities German Immersion School will maintain a waiting list for each class.
Twin Cities German Immersion School is open to all students and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, handicap, ancestry or national origin, to the extent required by law. It does not discriminate in administration of its educational policies, administration policies, and other school administered programs.
