Twin Cities German Immersion School (TCGIS) is a tuition-free public charter school that opened in Minneapolis-St. Paul in the fall of 2005 with Kindergarten and 1st grade. TCGIS will be adding a grade every year until it reaches a K-8 configuration. Its full immersion program utilizes German as the language of instruction beginning in kindergarten. TCGIS values high academic achievement and engages each individual child through an enriched second language curriculum taught in German. With the support of parents, the school creates a community that nurtures a child’s natural curiosity and fosters international awareness.
